French National Rally President Jordan Bardella’s personal wealth has crossed the one-million-euro mark, according to calculations by the French newspaper Libération. The assessment highlights a significant divergence between his current financial status and the working-class background he often cites, while also drawing attention to potential gaps in his official transparency declarations.

Libération’s analysis indicates that Bardella’s income surged from approximately 100,000 euros annually before taxes in previous years to 775,210 euros in 2025. This increase is largely attributed to royalties from two books published by Fayard, a publishing house controlled by Vincent Bolloré since 2023. The titles, "Ce que je cherche" and "Ce que veulent les Français," have sold over 109,000 copies combined, with Bardella reportedly earning nearly 730,000 euros from the works over two years.

Bardella’s financial profile also includes his salary as a Member of the European Parliament. In 2025, he received a gross monthly salary of 11,255.26 euros, plus 4,950 euros in monthly expenses. Additionally, he owns an apartment in Garches, Hauts-de-Seine, purchased in 2020 for 370,000 euros.

The publication’s findings have raised questions regarding Bardella’s compliance with transparency rules. His last declaration of private interests submitted to the European Parliament on April 8, 2025, did not list payments from Fayard. EU parliamentary codes of conduct require members to declare any paid activity running parallel to their mandate if it exceeds 5,000 euros gross per calendar year.

Bardella reportedly provided more detailed information to the French High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP), declaring 88,068 euros in advances received in 2024 and 640,147 euros in May 2025. A new declaration of substantial modification is currently under review by the authority.

The financial disclosure issues coincide with a shift in Bardella’s living situation. Once known for emphasizing his upbringing in Seine-Saint-Denis, he now resides in Garches, an affluent suburb west of Paris where support for the National Rally is historically weak. When contacted by Libération regarding these financial details, Bardella declined to comment.
