SPRINGFIELD, MA / ACCESS Newswire / July 8, 2025 / In 2023, the State of Massachusetts declared its opioid epidemic to be the state's "greatest public health threat." While there has been some decline in opioid-related overdose since this declaration, the epidemic continues to rage on in certain pockets of the state. Other active forms of substance abuse and addictive disorders in the state only exacerbate the epidemic, moving public officials and other organizations to act urgently.

The need for more addiction resources throughout the state is one of the many reasons why Boca Recovery Center has announced the opening of a full-service recovery center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Boca chose Springfield not only because of the current public threat in the state and country but also because of its proximity to other metro areas. This location allows Boca to provide treatment and economic growth to the historic city of Springfield and nearby communities.

The location will open on July 8th and can be found at 200 Kendall St. The new clinic will provide an array of residential, detox, and mental health services, all personalized for the patient's unique needs and situation. The center will provide dozens of new healthcare and administration jobs, as well as utilize a previous property no longer in use, thus improving the area.

Boca Recovery Center was established in 2016 in Boca Raton, Florida with the mission of establishing a service center that provided innovative therapies to help clients make the physical, emotional, and spiritual transition from an addictive lifestyle to one of recovery. The success of its Boca Raton location has led to new locations in New Jersey, Indiana, and now Massachusetts.

Boca Recovery Center has served over 10,000 patients since its inception and customizes its treatment based on the individual's needs. While all treatment is determined on a patient-by-patient basis, centers tend to work heavily in opioid, stimulant, and alcohol-related addiction. Still, their experienced staff has assisted patients in overcoming a wide array of addictive disorders, both substance and behavioral-related.

"State and local officials are doing a tremendous job throughout Massachusetts in addressing the ongoing drug crisis. We are honored to join their mission, provide vital resources to the public, and offer partnership and employment opportunities to local medical professionals looking to help those battling addiction," said Christopher Ferry, CEO of Boca Recovery Center. "Our goal is to establish service centers in strategic areas throughout the country. Having Springfield as one of the core northeastern locations allows us to provide much-needed services not only in the Springfield area but throughout the state and the entire East Coast."

Alongside providing a full suite of services to those battling addiction related disorders, the facility will also employ over a dozen local medical professionals, and partner with regional organizations to not only assist the region in its health, but also make strides in community engagement and the local economy.

"Through the numerous interviews we have engaged in across all different disciplines, it is clear that Boca Recovery Center's MA location is a welcomed addition to the needs of individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring disorders", said Katie Viola-Downey Clinical Services Director of Boca Recovery Center. "Our team of directors is overwhelmed with excitement at having been given the opportunity to select and develop our team of strong, compassionate, and caring individuals from the ground up. We believe that the strength of the treatment team and its ability to work collaboratively leads to better care provided to our residents, which in turn results in better treatment outcomes."

About Boca Recovery Center
Boca Recovery Center is a substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment facility established in 2016 in Boca Raton, Florida. The development of our programming was so successful that we began to expand our services to other areas of the United States that were in need of strong treatment programs to address the needs of the communities struggling with addiction. Our second location opened in 2020 in Galloway, New Jersey, and our third facility opened in Bloomington, Indiana, in 2022, with each program modeled on our flagship facility in South Florida. Boca Recovery Center's growing success is credited to our highly experienced, professional medical and clinical staff, the use of evidence-based treatments, and our focus in individualized client care to address the specific needs of anyone who admits to one of our locations.
